SELECTED TERRY

New development for the  IDEA TERRY

We have recently developped a patented device to knit the so called Sculptured Terry (or Selected Terry) on the  IDEA TERRY machines (all the diameters).

Differently from other systems our device achieves the selected terry without the need of selecting the sinker. In other words the sinker cap is a standard sinker cap and uses the standard sinkers of the 312 IDEA TERRY  

This gives the great avantage that the machine can switch from an article with the selected terry to a regular sock just by changing the program. No mechanical part needs to be changed 

Another advantage of using a standard sinker cap is that the speed of the machine is not affected by the big diameter of the sinker cap.  last but not least the machine can be equipped with the dial needles and this gives another advantage.  

The socks with selected terry are in fact sold with the inside out (to show the terry effect), this means that the double welt cannot be made with the selected terry since the make up would show to the outside, on the contary we can knit these socks with a true rib 1x1 welt that will look exactly the same from the inside and from the outside and that is well known to be very soft on the leg.

 It is also possible to add a picot edge to the make up in case of childern socks.
